Role Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for conducting and initiating process engineering studies, process design, and providing technical support to daily plant operations. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and optimized plant performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform process engineering design and process study,
  • Investigate / troubleshoot operating problems and provide solutions.
  • Optimize plant operations to improve profitability.
  • Monitor plant performance on a periodic basis in order to maintain high efficiency.
  • Participate in plant turnaround activities and provide technical assistance in plant startup / shutdown and catalyst regeneration.
  • Participate in task force / committees and network.
  • Keep abreast with latest technology with view to utilize ideas in project design and problem solving.
  • Establish procedures and supervise equipment startup/shutdown and catalyst regeneration. 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in refinery operations or downstream facilities, including exposure to key process units such as distillation, catalytic cracking, hydrocracking, hydrotreating, and coking.
  • Strong initiative, leadership qualities, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communicator in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written).
