Overview
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting operational and financial data processing activities, including data validation, reconciliation, transaction processing, reporting, and month-end support. The role ensures data accuracy, compliance with established controls, and timely execution of operational deliverables while continuously identifying opportunities to improve, standardise, and automate processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and consolidation activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of operational and financial data.
- Analyze data from multiple sources to identify discrepancies, exceptions, unusual trends, and data quality issues, and support their resolution.
- Maintain and update working files, databases, trackers, and calculation templates to support operational processes and reporting requirements.
- Prepare, validate, and support the processing of financial transactions, adjustments, accruals, and related documentation.
- Perform transaction verification and post-processing checks to ensure accurate recording in relevant systems.
- Support month-end activities, including reconciliations, accruals, investigation of variances, and resolution of outstanding issues.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate information, obtain approvals, and resolve operational or data-related exceptions.
- Maintain proper documentation, supporting records, and audit trails in accordance with established controls and procedures.
- Contribute to the enhancement of calculation tools, workflows, and reporting processes through process improvement and automation initiatives.
- Prepare periodic operational, management, and regulatory reports, and provide data analysis to support business requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, PivotTables, and management of large datasets.
- Working knowledge of Power Query or similar data transformation tools for data cleansing, consolidation, and preparation is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in handling operational, financial, and transactional data.
- Familiarity with ERP, finance, reporting systems, or experience in billing, reconciliation, accruals, and transaction processing is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet recurring operational deadlines, and work effectively with high-volume data.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and drive process improvements.
