Job overview:

Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, storage, and backup within an organization. They ensure that IT infrastructure runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently to support business operations. 


Responsibilities:

System Maintenance and Monitoring

  • Install, configure, and update hardware and software systems.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations.
Backup Management  
  • Design and implement backup strategies to protect critical data.
  • Schedule and verify regular backups using tools like DELL networker or cloud-native solutions (optional).
  • Test disaster recovery plans to ensure data restoration in case of failure.
Storage Administration  
  • Manage storage systems, such as SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), or cloud storage (e.g., Azure Blob, AWS S3).
  • Optimize storage performance, capacity, and allocation for applications and users.
  • Troubleshoot storage-related issues and ensure data integrity.
Office 365 (O365) Administration  
  • Manage O365 tenant, including user accounts, licenses, and permissions via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  •  Configure and maintain services like Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Troubleshoot O365 issues (e.g., email delivery, sync problems) and enforce security policies (e.g., MFA, DLP).
Cloud Management  
  • Administer cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud for hosting, storage, and applications.
  • Deploy and manage virtual machines, containers, and cloud-based backups.
  • Optimize cloud costs, scalability, and security (e.g., IAM roles, encryption).
Antivirus Management  
  • Deploy and maintain antivirus software (e.g., Symantec, McAfee, Windows Defender) across endpoints and servers.
  • Monitor and respond to malware threats, ensuring timely updates and scans.
  • Coordinate remediation efforts for detected infections.
Email Filtering and Security  
  • Configure and manage email filtering systems to block spam, phishing, and malicious attachments.
  • Monitor email traffic for anomalies and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Integrate email security with O365 Exchange Online or other mail servers.
Documentation  
  • Document backup schedules, storage configurations, O365 policies, and cloud architecture.
  • Maintain recovery procedures and system change logs. Produce monthly/quarterly report from email filtering system.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computing/Information Technology/Computer Science.
  • Certifications (optional): Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator, or vendor-specific certs.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Windows/Linux, backup tools (Networker), storage (Unity), O365, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), antivirus (TrendMicro), and email filtering.
  • Backup and Recovery: Ability to design and test DR plans.
  • Storage Management: Knowledge of SAN/NAS and cloud storage optimization.
  • O365 Expertise: Proficiency in Exchange Online, Azure AD, and Teams administration.
  • Cloud Skills: Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Antivirus: Familiarity with endpoint protection and threat response.
  • Email Filtering: Understanding of spam/phishing prevention and email gateway security.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnosing issues across diverse systems.
  • Able to work after office hours and on standby.
  • Able to travel to Port Dickson as and when requested.
  • Experience in project coordination for IT projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management.
