Overview
The Aviation Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities for aviation refuelling vehicles, equipment, and facilities at KLIA Aviation Depot. The role ensures operational reliability, regulatory compliance, safety adherence, quality control, preventive maintenance execution, and effective management of contractors, service providers, and maintenance personnel.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate maintenance activities for aviation refueling vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness and reliability.
- Supervise and manage maintenance contractors, vendors, and maintenance personnel to ensure work is completed safely and effectively.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and calibrations in accordance with JIG and company requirements.
- Manage spare parts inventory, coordinate procurement activities through SAP, and maintain accurate maintenance and stock records.
- Investigate equipment failures, operational delays, and incidents, and coordinate corrective actions and reporting.
- Support the implementation and compliance of Safety Management System (SMS), Loss Prevention System (LPS), 5S, and other operational controls.
- Issue and track maintenance work notifications, assign tasks, and verify completion according to established standards and procedures.
- Ensure product quality control, equipment inspections, and maintenance records are consistently maintained and updated.
- Liaise with airport authorities, airline representatives, and key stakeholders to support operational requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities and perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Secondary school certificate, technical school, or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and spoken.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in aircraft refueling, aviation operations, or related maintenance activities.
- Sound knowledge of aviation refuelling operations, equipment maintenance, and industry safety standards.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using SAP or similar inventory/maintenance management systems is an added advantage.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and coordinate equipment maintenance activities.
- Valid RTD “E” driving licence is preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
